The melodies include famous tunes such as 'The Derry Air' and 'Carrigfergus'. There are twenty scores with a playalong CD on 1.8 shakuhachi. The book contains both Kinko-ryu and Tozan-ryu notation versions. The CD also contains bonus tracks of melodies played on longer shakuhachi, Irish flute and tin whistle.

This shakuhachi has a full, round Ro otsu and plays easily in both registers. It has one coat of clear lacquer in the bore and a red lacquer hole finish. The thumb hole was repositioned for ease of playing.

This shakuhachi has a fog horn Ro otsu and a wide bore and utaguchi opening. It has a Kinko ivory utaguchi and distinct celtic green lacquer holes! Ideal for 'blowing zen.'

This is a true ji-nashi shakuhachi with no lacquer or filler in the bore. It has a natural utaguchi and red lacquer finish on the holes. Ideal for honkyoku like Sanya and Sanan.
